The main objective of the proposed collaboration is to quantify the value of distributed batteries and demand response in the context of the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC). To achieve this objective, the following sub-objectives are pursued: 1) To assess the benefits of storage and demand response in the wholesale market, quantifying the differences between different storage technologies. 2) To assess the benefits of avoiding or deferring investments in distribution systems using distributed batteries. 3) To scale the benefits of battery and demand response at national level in Spain.

Layman's summary: The benefits of distributed batteries and demand response in both the wholesale market and distribution networks are quantified.

Techniques employed: Wholesale market models, distribution networks models
